ApologetiX: That Christian Parody Band (Part 1)

J. JacksonListen to the fun interview with J. Jackson, lead singer/lyricist of ApologetiX (That Christian Parody Band), which specializes in Biblical parodies of rock hits from yesterday and today, including everything from Elvis to Eminem. It’s kind of like “Weird Al” Yankovic meets Billy Graham. In fact, Weird Al’s drummer, Jon “Bermuda” Schwartz, plays on one of the band’s CDs.

Tim is a huge fan of Apologetix (only surpassed by Petra) and he had the chance to ask all those questions he always wanted to ask–about the band’s origin, the process of writing parody, and the impact of the band’s ministry. We also play some clips of their most popular songs.

I really enjoyed listening to the interview, and especially how the girl got saved at the concert. It reminded me of a Petra concert where over 200 kids went forward to turn to The Lord up in Madison WI in the early ’80’s.
